Artist's Comments
This is a standard lightsaber, inspired by all of Star Wars. This was the first real 3D model I created in my computer graphics class, and I was pretty satisfied with the results. Everything was created in Strata 3D, except for the mapping of the leather on the handle, the mapping on the belt clip and the mapping of the button. All of those were made with Corel Painter 8.
The lightsaber was just for fun, but I eventually decided to spice it up a bit with the detail, and once I discovered the possible Special FX, I did so on the blade.
